Yes, the Galaxy Nexus is a Nexus device that should receive all Android upgrades almost immediately after Google releases a new version. But no, that doesn’t happen with all Galaxy Nexus versions out there, and we specifically mean Verizon and Sprint, as carriers have their own not-so-hidden agendas when it comes to releasing such updates in a timely manner.
While there’s absolutely no official confirmation that the Verizon Galaxy Nexus Android 4.1 Jelly Bean build is ready to roll out, we can tell you that at least one user is apparently getting it as a build JRO03O, a 146.6MB download, which could be the highly anticipated Jelly Bean update.
The news comes from xda-developers where user El Madhatter says the following:
I received the system update notification (JRO03O) within the past hour [3:25 AM EST]. See [following] pic.
He also provides the image above, although no additional information is available at this time, and nobody else seems to have gotten it.
